Education

Education is a key part of our mission.  The Museum offers guided tours of our buildings and exhibits to adults and children, often through school or church groups.  We have also sponsored student internships and educational field work in archaeology and architecture in cooperation with local academic institutions such as Prairie View A&M, Lone Star College and Houston Community College.  Our work with the Texas Historical Commission has resulted in informational historic markers being erected at our houses and other historic sites in Freedmen’s Town.
